Typolight: Open Source Web CMS
March 26, 2008 by jhOy imPeRiaL
Today, i’ve learned about a new CMS software called Typolight.
According to wikipedia:
TYPOlight is a 2004 in the first published version of open-source Web content management system for medium to large sites. When still very young CMS system TYPOlight enjoys a rapidly growing user group. The naming similarity to TYPO3 is for the rapidly growing notoriety certainly beneficial. TYPOlight is not a stripped down version of TYPO3 but a separate development.
TYPOlight extensions can easily be extended. There are not as many as in many other CMS systems - the advantage is, however, that many functions directly in the program, with other systems via third-party must be offered. This has significant stability and security advantages, especially when updates. A special feature is live updates, especially for small companies to reduce administrative expenses. They are a security advantage, because Web applications automatically remain current and security gaps be closed immediately.
The annual award was Packt Publishing TYPOlight 2007 in the category of the most promising content management systems and nominated to the second rank.
I have watched its tutorial on how to use and customize your template and it was easy. Tomorrow, I would be actually trying it out. Hope its really that good. ![]()
